Transnational
Certification and Accreditation of eLearning Project Managers

Aims:
In this
workshop, the transnational certification of eLearning project
managers
(Certified European eLearning Manager) will be presented and discussed
on the
basis of the Leonardo innovation transfer project "smectrans".
Participants are invited to join the smectrans network, contribute to
the development
of the certificate, and include it into their own business or academic
portfolio.
Content:
The
smectrans project develops, based on the results of earlier EU
projects, a certification package for eLearning managers and
consultants. This includes:

Knowledge expected of participants:
No
special knowledge is needed. Experience in eLearning project management
is an
advantage.
Workshop activities:
eLearning
materials as well as educational, procedural and business strategies
around the
general topic of transnational certification will be presented by the
project
coordinator. Participants will be invited to develop the strategies and
methods
further in view of their own business or educational environments.
Interested
participants may join the network and get involved in developing the
targeted
educational & business objectives accordig to their special needs.
The Instructor:
After
studying in Germany, England and the USA, Dr. Dietmar Treichel
worked as professor and dean at Universities of Applied Sciences in
Germany and
Austria from 1986 until 2002. From 2002, he worked as an eLearning
consultant
at universities (e.g. Vienna), companies (e.g. Hugo Boss) and public
organisations (e.g. the German Pension Authorities). Since 2004, he has
also been
coordinating Leonardo projects with a focus on eLearning project
management,
involving 9 countries. In 2006, he became one of the directors of the
IKF
(www.ikf.ch), one of the largest providers of eLearning and knowledge
management education at master`s level, based in Lucerne, Switzerland.
